I have no clue what it could be as I do not use Mac, its the first time I see someone with this problem. Its probably a problem between RenPy games in general and some kind of security on Mac/antivirus that is not letting the program write new files into your device.

Hmmm… You installed the game right in the same folder as a previous version?
Try extracting the ZIP file you downloaded again in a clean folder.
In the latest version, the RPY files are in the Script folder instead of the Game folder.

So far, so good. I love the GUI, the map of the game is impressive, yet simple. There's a lot of hotties to choose from, just all-around good vibes. The Dev has talent and deserves more support. Can't wait to see what happens next.
